Episode #9: The Power of the Obituary

On today’s episode, we are talking about obituaries! At first, this may not seem exciting – but really, what an incredible opportunity an obituary is to showcase and highlight the life of someone that has passed away. In many cases, this is the last written account of someone’s life!

I talk through not only what an obituary is, but also the following action items to make sure you have the knowledge to create your own – with all the wonderful opportunities and potential pitfalls to look out for.

Action Items:

1.        Write your obituary, perhaps with a spouse or close friend. Ask yourself the question: How do you want to be remembered?

2.        Print out the letters to all 3 credit bureaus in the PDF linked below, and put them with your documents (printed or online!) that we have already started: password list, funeral wishes, etc.

3.        Listen to this ‘Terrible, Thanks for Asking’ podcast episode, called “Your Favorite Obituaries” from Nora McInerny. It is so powerful! https://omny.fm/shows/terrible-thanks-for-asking/your-favorite-obituaries
