Using their hearts – Bethany’s story is powerful – and combined 34 years of professional experience, they take us through the nuts and bolts of life insurance: What is it? Why do you need it? If you already have it through a job, is it enough?
Start these conversations now to make sure your family is taken care of when (not “if”) something happens to you.
Action items:
1. If you think you have life insurance through your job, talk to your HR person to understand the details.
2. Once you know those details, determine how much you need, using the acronym DIE:
D – Debt
I – Income
E – Education
3. Bridge the gap between what you have and what you need. If you do not already have a resource, start by talking to your car or home insurance agent, your bank or an estate planning attorney.
Make sure you know what you are buying! Inexpensive or “discount” insurance policies, typically those you find online, may have fine print. Buy it through a trusted person or agency!
